Original members from Red Stick Ramblers, the Revelers, this band is born out of the band who started Blackpot Festival. This amazing group brings a combination of swamp pop, Cajun, zydeco, country and blues. World-renowned Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for presenting their own inimitable brand of Louisiana music with youthful exuberance, blending the sounds of Cajun, Zydeco, Swamp-Pop, Country and Soul. Founded in 2005 in Lafayette, Louisiana, Pine Leaf Boys have garnered one Grammy® award (2012 Best Regional Roots) and four Grammy® Nominations.

Known as the Queen of the Cajun Accordion, Sheryl Cormier brings Cajun dancehall music to a whole new level. With her husband Russell Cormier Sr. on vocals, Sheryl's band, Cajun Sounds, provides the fine sounds of great Cajun music you would hear in the old days of the dancehalls.

Preston is one of the last of the older Creole style of accordion players. He makes real Creole music from the small rural community of Soileau, Louisiana and is an important force in preserving traditional Creole French music. He is the father of Keith Frank, one of the most popular young Zydeco artist of today in Louisiana.

Ed Poullard is a native of Eunice, on the broad southwestern Louisiana plains where native Creoles and emigrant Cajuns met, mingled and molded the sounds of zydeco, one of the nation's few indigenous musics. He learned his craft at his father's and grandfather's knees, absorbing the sounds made by working men and women in their spare time at the dances, parties and celebrations that speckled the calendar.

As a third generation Creole artist who learned at the knee of his grandfather, Joe Hall is devoted to preserving his heritage . "I want to honor my grandfather with this music..." says Hall, whose grandfather Clement King Ned, has his recordings in the archives of the Smithsonian. At the age of seven Hall made regular visits to elder Creole statesmen such as “Bois Sec” Ardoin, Canray Fontenot, Calvin Carriere, Nolton Semien and Carlton Frank to learn tunes first hand to develop his own sound.

After taking the Louisiana music scene by storm in 2018, Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rôdailleurs have developed a reputation for pairing ancient traditions with incomparable energy. Preserving a culture while pioneering its advancement, Grammy Award winning and nominated musicians Joel Savoy, Cedric Watson, and Alan Lafleur, join Adam Cormier in bringing Jourdan’s stories to life.

This punk trio landed the prestigious Best New Artist Award in Austin last year. "Dominated by mid-tempo barn burners, Pussy Gillette specializes in mostly fun, slightly nasty garage rock, the kind that bursts in and out in under three minutes."

A Hill Country Texan through and through, Georgia's sound is of a quality and character that can only be acquired over many years of listening to country greats like Willie Nelson, Cindy Walker, and Bob Wills. While Georgia is a bonafide Texan, she is well-traveled and has spent a good amount of her professional career working with musicians in Colorado where she recorded her first self-titled EP.

From raging fiddle tunes, to saxophone solos and unrequited love songs, the music of The Faux Paws would be hard to pin down with standard genre descriptions. The trio’s contagious groove, and feel-good melting pot folk music has been honed over ten years of playing together, and is the sound of three close friends (two of which happen to be brothers), who feel a musical kinship that transcends any stylistic limitations. Andrew and Noah VanNorstrand and Chris Miller consist of this great group!

Sentimental Family Band is the songwriting partnership of Camille Lewis, Kyle Albrecht and Matthew Shepherd. The Texas-born and raised friends cut their chops in various corners of Austin’s diverse and bustling music scene, but bonded over a shared affinity for the midcentury sounds of Bakersfield and Nashville alike.

New Orleans-based Bad Penny Pleasuremakers ,Matt Bell & Joy Patterson, met on a blind date shortly after Hurricane Katrina, in 2005, and have playing music as a duo and with full bands ever since. They play ragtime, acoustic blues, country blues & traditional jazz from pre-WW2 America, with a focus on Louisiana history and roots.

Often described as a unique, under the radar string band that simply sounds like no other - Lafayette, Louisiana's Cat Head Biscuit Boys have been a working unit for the past eight years and are highly revered as a local favorite. Their singular sound blends country soul with swing, swamp pop, and other varied influences. They have been known to surprise their audiences with off-the-wall interpretations of music from varied sources that are seldom associated with string band music.

Nokosee Fields was born and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, studying orchestral violin at a young age. After years of learning and performing Classical music, Nokosee turned his attention to traditional American music, performing, teaching, and touring professionally.

Travis Stuart is one of the few people born and raised in rural western North Carolina who carry on playing traditional Old Time music.  Travis is especially noted for his authentic and accomplished banjo playing and travels globally playing and teaching.

The son of Opry member and country music legend Jimmy C. Newman, his son Gary Newman leads a full forced country band that focuses on the great music of different country greats, but focuses on the stylings of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. This group is one not to miss at the festival!

Brothers and Sisters McMercy never really thought of themselves as a band. Just friends and family that make music together. Despite that, they've been bringing their unique take on roots gospel music, 60's soul, and harmony singing to stages in Austin and beyond for the better part of a decade now. When roots music exploded in popularity not too long ago, they received a lot of comparisons to recent stars of the New West and Anti records variety.

Amsterdam’s slamminest stringband will be finishing up their first-ever American tour at Blackpot this year. Dutch songs in English. English songs in Dutch. French songs in who the heck knows what? These cats have hosted half of the Blackpot performers at their homes and festivals in the Netherlands over the years. Expect many guests. Stop by the Schoolhouse Stage, dance a while, and make them feel welcome!

FERD (the band) is nearly 15 years in the making. As the former fiddler and front man for the Hackensaw Boys, Ferd Moyse first met East Tennessee banjoist and singer Matt Morelock in 2007 and double-bassist Chris Stevens shortly thereafter. Ferd, Stevens, and Morelock decided to take the trio on the road in 2021 with a singular focus on Ferd’s body of timeless original songs. FERD has quickly gained the attention of fans, musicians, venues, and discerning listeners worldwide.

Raised on the central coast of California and currently living in Lafayette, LA, Elise Leavy has a distinctly unique voice as a singer and songwriter. Often likened to Joni Mitchell and Judee Sill, Elise says it must be the California seawater getting inside her head and heart from an early age. She has been writing songs since she was 8 years old, and has studied the art of singing and harmony for the better part of her 24 years.

Lost Patterns is an American roots duo based in Austin, TX, featuring songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Beth Chrisman and Silas Lowe. They bring an earthy grit to the lonesome, lowdown backroads of acoustic Americana, that is always moving and evocative.

Residing on the banks of the Bayou Teche in Breaux Bridge, LA, Adeline Miller brings this powerhouse Cajun stringband featuring Miller on fiddle, Amelia Powell on guitar, Robert Miller on bass, and Laykin Usie on drums!

Think George Jones, Ray Price, Loretta Lynn and Buck Owens in the country music realm; bluegrass faves include the Stanley Brothers, Hazel Dickens and Jimmy Martin — with a twist and even a shout or two. This is what you will hear with Deano and Jo, as they combine forces to bring you some amazing harmonies as well as a mix of originals with country and bluegrass tied in!

With 7 years of experience playing Cajun fiddle music, Cameron highlights many different styles of the great Cajun fiddlers of the past and present, hoping to preserve these styles for others to learn and to also listen to. Cameron has learned from many of the greats including Joel Savoy, Gina Forsyth, Blake Miller, Courtney Granger, David Greely, Jason Frey, and Mitch Reed.

Bringing together tap dance, banjo tunes, modular syntehsizer xperiments, swoony songs, jazz remakes, and much more, Becky and Ben bring liveliness and emotion to their music! Catch them at the festival!
